All of my packages come with all of your edited, high-resolution photos, as well as gorgeous finished prints to enjoy for years to come.
My job is to make you look good, catch all the special moments, and make your life easier on your big day!
The Engagement Session
The engagement session is our warm up, and an invaluable experience that shows us both what to expect on your wedding day! It helps alleviate any anxiety you may have about taking photos (because let’s be real, you have enough nerves about the big day!) We also learn together what works and what doesn’t as far as posing and interaction, so that on your wedding day I know exactly how to get photos you love.
I love to shoot engagement sessions somewhere meaningful for you as a couple. Maybe the farmers market where you went on your first date, a park you both love to visit, or even your home/yard. I also have lots of location suggestions for around the Vancouver, Clark County, Columbia Gorge, and Portland area that would provide beautiful backgrounds.
I also offer engagement sessions a la carte…if you’re not ready to pull the trigger on booking wedding photography, doing an engagement session with me can be a great way to test-drive my style and see if we’re a match personality-wise.
Let’s Start Planning
After booking, a pre-event consultation is scheduled to give us an opportunity to meet and talk about your wedding and expectations before the big day arrives. We will talk about your timeline and how your schedule is planned; decide when we are going to do the family formals and if you are having a first look; assess what time I need to arrive, when I will be leaving, and where we will meet; and all of the other important details I need to know.
If you have any questions for me, this planning session would be the perfect time to ask. It’s also a good time to chat and get to know one another, especially if you don’t have an engagement session planned.
How Many Hours Should We Book for Photography?
This is probably the most frequent question I get, and is definitely an important one! You want to make sure everything important is covered, but not book extra time (and spend extra money) that’s unnecessary. Here are some general wedding timeline guidelines and variables to consider. Remember, if you have an especially large wedding party or extended family, these times will likely be longer.
Next, you need to decide what important details you want covered. Do you want a lot of getting-ready shots prior to the ceremony? Do you want me to stay for the entire reception? These details will affect the length of time you will need me there. If you want me to stay until your reception exit, and you want a lot of candid, getting ready shots, you will need full day coverage. If you just want a few getting ready shots, that will knock off some time. If you want me to stay for just the main events in the reception and not until the last guest leaves, then this will also shorten the day. Also consider your ceremony length, travel time between different locations, and if you’d like to have a first look or extended time for the photos of just the two of you.
I’m always happy to walk through the rough timeline of your wedding day at our planning appointment; additional a la carte coverage hours can always be added to your package if needed.
