Vancouver, WA Wedding Photographer

Capture your Love Story with beautiful, authentic photos!

I specialize in small to midsize wedding photography in the Vancouver, WA, and beach weddings and elopements on the Oregon Coast. I promise to provide you with a complete and personalized service. I will guide you through every part of the process…from your consultation, to engagement session, to a stress-free wedding day. All of my packages come with all of your edited, high-resolution photos, as well as gorgeous finished prints to enjoy for years to come.

My job is to make you look good, catch all the special moments, and make your life easier on your big day!

The Engagement Session

The engagement session is our warm up, and an invaluable experience that shows us both what to expect on your wedding day! It helps alleviate any anxiety you may have about taking photos (because let’s be real, you have enough nerves about the big day!) We also learn together what works and what doesn’t as far as posing and interaction, so that on your wedding day I know exactly how to get photos you love.

I love to shoot engagement sessions somewhere meaningful for you as a couple. Maybe the farmers market where you went on your first date, a park you both love to visit, or even your home/yard. I also have lots of location suggestions for around the Vancouver, Clark County, Columbia Gorge, and Portland area that would provide beautiful backgrounds.

I also offer engagement sessions a la carte…if you’re not ready to pull the trigger on booking wedding photography, doing an engagement session with me can be a great way to test-drive my style and see if we’re a match personality-wise.

Let’s Start Planning

After booking, a pre-event consultation is scheduled to give us an opportunity to meet and talk about your wedding and expectations before the big day arrives. We will talk about your timeline and how your schedule is planned; decide when we are going to do the family formals and if you are having a first look; assess what time I need to arrive, when I will be leaving, and where we will meet; and all of the other important details I need to know.

If you have any questions for me, this planning session would be the perfect time to ask. It’s also a good time to chat and get to know one another, especially if you don’t have an engagement session planned.

How Many Hours Should We Book for Photography?

This is probably the most frequent question I get, and is definitely an important one! You want to make sure everything important is covered, but not book extra time (and spend extra money) that’s unnecessary. Here are some general wedding timeline guidelines and variables to consider. Remember, if you have an especially large wedding party or extended family, these times will likely be longer.

  • 30 Minutes for the wedding couple
  • 30 minutes for the whole bridal party
  • 10-15 minutes for the bridesmaids
  • 10-15 minutes for the groomsmen
  • 20 – 30 minutes for extended family & large family pictures
  • 20 – 30 minutes for immediate family (this includes parents, grandparents, siblings)
  • 15 minutes for the first look if you are doing one

Deciding on the key moments you want captured is an important step in planning your wedding photography. Consider whether you’d like extensive “getting ready” shots before the ceremony or if you’d prefer coverage through the entire reception. These preferences will help determine how long you’ll need me there. For example:

  • If you’d like plenty of candid, getting-ready photos and coverage until your reception exit, full-day coverage is ideal.
  • If you only want a few getting-ready shots, this can reduce the time needed.
  • If you’d prefer I cover just the main events at the reception and not stay until the end, the day can be shortened accordingly.

Be sure to also account for the ceremony length, travel time between locations, and whether you’d like a first look or extended time for couple portraits.

I’m always happy to help map out the rough timeline of your wedding day during our planning appointment. Plus, additional à la carte coverage hours can easily be added to your package if needed!
