Help!What should I wear?

It’s important to think about what your photos will be used for, and the impression that you want to give someone seeing your photo for the first time. Do you want to be seen as friendly and casual, or formal and authoritative?

Also think about how you will be using your photo. For example, if you need a banner for Facebook or YouTube, I’ll shoot with a very widescreen frame in mind. However, a narrow column advertisement may require a much different approach.

Lastly, keep in mind if you’ll need to coordinate with any websites, company logos, or other marketing materials. For example, it wouldn’t be ideal to wear a hot pink shirt when your company website has soft neutral colors.

Wear This:

  • Solid colors that are darker than your skin tone, which will help draw attention to your face
  • Long sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves
  • Wrinkle-free clothing that lays smoothly
  • Classic and season-less looks
  • Fitted, well tailored suit or jacket tops
  • Simple jewelry
  • Anything that you absolutely love to wear. Rules are made to be broken, so if you immediately think of a favorite dress or shirt immediately, bring it along. Odds are it’s a favorite because the fit is perfect. That confidence comes through on camera!

Not This:

  • Busy patterns
  • Colors that are very pale or close to your skin tone
  • Turtlenecks, low-cut tops, or cap sleeves
  • Red as the dominant color
  • Flowy material, which will add bulk
  • Lots of layers of scarves, jewelry, fussy collars
  • Anything that makes you feel like you’re playing dress-up, is uncomfortable, or doesn’t seem authentic to your personality or image you’d like to portray.

  • A shorter session time with a single outfit
  • 8-12 proofs to select from
  • Basic retouching (light skin smoothing, blemish removal)
  • A single high-resolution digital files/photos of your choice with perpetual, unrestricted personal and commercial usage release. You are free to use your photo however you’d like with no additional licensing fees or renewals.
  • Web-format digital files for use on company websites, LinkedIn, etc.

Full Headshot Session

  • Your session time in-studio or on-location; two different backdrops and up to two different outfits
  • Minimum of 20-25 proofs to select from
  • Full Retouching, including revisions and specific requests for your final images (skin smoothing, hair changes, teeth whitening, etc are all possible upon request…or of course we can keep things 100% natural)
  • Three final retouched high-resolution digital files/photos of your choice with perpetual, unrestricted personal and commercial usage release. You are free to use them however you’d like with no additional licensing fees or renewals.
  • Web-format digital files for use on company websites, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Black and white version of the files, optimized for print use
  • Hair/makeup services, physical prints, any additional digital files and taxes are additional. 

Deluxe Headshot Session

$850

  • A longer session time in-studio or on-location; with several backdrops/areas and up to three outfits
  • 30-40 proof images to select from in an online gallery
  • 15 final retouched high-resolution digital photos of your choice, with perpetual, unrestricted personal and commercial usage release. You are free to use them however you’d like with no additional licensing fees or renewals.
  • Full Retouching, including revisions and specific requests for your final images (skin smoothing, hair changes, teeth whitening, etc are all possible upon request…or of course we can keep things 100% natural)
